Staff Engineer I | Structural Design
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze various structural systems, including masonry, wood, concrete and steel buildings
- Develop structural designs for in-ground and above-ground concrete tanks, retaining walls, and other infrastructure-related structures
- Support municipal, private, and water/wastewater infrastructure projects with sound engineering judgment and attention to detail
Structural Inspections
- Conduct inspections of existing structures to assess current conditions
- Document structural performance and identify signs of deterioration, damage, or compliance issues
Maintenance & Repair Solutions
- Provide engineering recommendations for the maintenance, repair, or replacement of a wide range of structural components
- Develop cost-effective and practical solutions to meet client needs while ensuring safety and code compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with a structures emphasis
- Engineer in Training certification or in pursuit of obtaining certification
- 0-4 years of experience in structure design and/or structures inspection
- Knowledge of structural design standards and codes
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D; Microsoft Office Suite and various structural software programs
- Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
- Valid U.S. Driver's License is required
