Douglasville Center for Nursing and Healing is seeking a Risk Manager/Staff Development Coordinator for an opportunity in the Douglasville, GA area. This role combines responsibilities of both Risk Manager and Staff Development Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage the risk management program in compliance with Georgia law and administrative rules.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to improve patient care and staff development.
- Serve as a key member of the facility’s core management team, ensuring effective integration of nursing services into overall operations.
- Provide orientation and training for staff on Risk Management and Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Conduct investigations into patient or risk management concerns, such as allegations of patient abuse or neglect.
- Assist with communicating new policies and procedures to staff.
- Coordinate, chair, attend, and participate in Risk Management/Safety Committee Meetings.
- Provide support services for all Risk Management activities, including data review and reporting.
- Educate staff on problem assessment techniques, compliance with regulations (hospital, state, federal, and Joint Commission), and policy revisions.
- Ensure monthly completion of Risk Management reports and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Risk Management and Quality Assurance activities.
- Review and revise risk management policies and procedures annually.
- Ensure facility compliance with regulatory requirements for staff credentialing and education.
- Provide ongoing professional development for staff, including new employee orientation and competency completion.
- Deliver annual mandatory and continuous education for staff using internal or external resources.
- Teach in-house courses, such as CNA training and special care unit training.
- Coordinate the employee health program (immunizations, flu shots, physical exams, etc.).
- Monitor and ensure current licensure and certifications of facility staff.
- Maintain employee education, training, and health files.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
- 3+ years of long-term care experience.
