Staff Chaplain - Spiritual Care & Mission (Full Time) - 8316
About the Role
Under the supervision of the Director of Spiritual Care and Mission, the Professional Chaplain provides ministry in a healthcare setting to patients, families, and staff, making tangible God’s grace and presence in the midst of their present circumstances. As a trained professional, the Chaplain offers a place of safety, free of judgment, prejudice, and discord, journeying with others through active listening and affirmation as they share their stories.
The Chaplain assists in integrating spiritual and emotional issues arising from health crises, helping individuals recognize the Divine within their situations. They encourage those they minister to search for new insights of self and a deeper God consciousness. Additionally, the Chaplain plays a broader role in education and leadership, nurturing the heart and soul of the healthcare organization while living out the core values and mission of St. Mary’s Medical Center.
The Chaplain shapes and addresses the needs of the larger whole, creating an environment that embodies a holistic approach to healing—body, mind, and spirit—a cornerstone of St. Mary’s Medical Center.
