About the role
The Chaplain as a Clinical Pastoral Education student may provide the following services:
- Assessing and attending to the spiritual needs of patients, their families, and employees, particularly in times of spiritual distress.
- Serving patients and family in times of transition such as death and dying and providing decedent care.
- Providing assistance in resolving bio-ethical concerns.
- Offering spiritual counseling and support through group work, religious services, hospital celebrations, and other methods.
- Representing the medical center to the broader religious community and the surrounding areas.
