STAFF ACCOUNTANT (ONSITE)

#IND123 Staff Accountant Location: Tampa, FL – Onsite Pay: $28–$33/hour ($58K-$68K) Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire Schedule Position Overview Hiregy is partnering with an established Tampa-based organization to add an experienced Staff Accountant to its accounting team. This role is best suited for someone who has already been operating as a Staff Accountant and can step into the position with limited training. The team needs someone who is comfortable owning core accounting responsibilities, working independently, and accurately explaining the accounting work they have performed. Responsibilities Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closePrepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entriesPerform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliationsReview general ledger activity and investigate discrepanciesAssist with bank reconciliations and cash-related accountingSupport AP and AR accounting activities as neededAssist with financial reporting and supporting schedulesProcess and record financial transactionsAssist with audit preparation and documentationMaintain accurate accounting recordsResearch and resolve accounting discrepanciesWork closely with accounting leadership and other departmentsAssist with additional accounting projects as needed Nice to Have Property management, housing, HOA, real estate, or related industry experienceExperience working in a high-volume transaction environmentExperience with multiple accounting systems or ERP platforms Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2+ years of hands-on Staff Accountant/general accounting experienceStrong experience with:General ledger accountingJournal entriesAccount reconciliationsMonth-end closeBank reconciliationsStrong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principlesStrong Excel skillsAbility to independently research and resolve accounting issues, ability to work independently without extensive trainingMust be comfortable working onsite in TampaBackground check requiredDrug screening required Ideal Candidate The key is finding a true Staff Accountant, not someone whose experience has primarily been AP or AR and is looking to make their first jump into general accounting.
