Staff Accountant III

The Staff Accountant III provides support for advanced financial functions including creating and posting journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation and analysis, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, fulfilling various internal and external audit requests, and financial reporting and analysis. Responsibilities Participates in month-end closing process by accurately and timely preparing complex account analysis and related journal entriesDemonstrates ownership of elevated accounting processes such as specializing in percentage of completion methodology, deferred revenue amortization, extended warranty amoritization and intercompany transactionsReconciles and understands the intricacies of various advanced general ledger accounts and prepare related supporting schedules.Analyzes complex customer contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 requirements.Assists with implementation or testing of new SAP or OneStream processesProvides interdepartmental collaboration and financial supportAssists with various internal and external auditsCreates and maintains written processes and procedure documentationAssists the Domestic Commercial & Industrial business group with moving Continuous Improvement projects forwardOwns special projects and drives them to completion Minimum Job Requirements Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance5+ years of related experience Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Displayed knowledge of advanced accounting acumenAbility to consistently demonstrate written and verbal communication of analysis, trends, and accounting treatment to upper managementKnowledge of Sarbanes Oxley, GAAP and FASBGoal-oriented and able to meet aggressive deadlines Preferred Job Requirements Masters’ Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.CPA/CMP CertificationExperience in SAP or similar ERPDemonstrated experience evaluating complex revenue recognition arrangements in accordance with ASC 606.Technical experience in public accountingExperience in AI Automation related to month end processes Great Reasons To Work For Generac Competitive Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401k and many moreScheduled events throughout the year that allow our employees, both current and retirees, to gather together and enjoy their time with their families and co-workersPride! This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short-term and long-term incentives.
