Job Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the accounting department by ensuring proper handling of trade receivables as well as accounts payable; with the goal of maximizing sales and profits. Support the accounting department by collecting, reconciling, analyzing, and summarizing information related to financial transactions.
Essential Functions
- Administer the approval or denial of credit (within defined credit policy) and support the credit department.
- Manage the general accounts receivable mailbox by resolving customer questions, and entering credit card payments.
- Call customers to collect invoices to maintain a healthy level of accounts receivable.
- Maintain department flow by providing appropriate back up as needed. Particularly on invoicing, cash application, and accounts payable invoice processing.
- Work with suppliers to resolve invoice disputes to ensure accurate payment.
- Auxiliary with the finance department to accomplish corporate and departmental goals by performing special assignments as necessary.
- Protect integrity of company information by keeping financial data confidential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting related field preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Certain math & computational skills.

- Extended periods of viewing computer monitor.
- Noise level in work environment: low to moderate.
Travel Requirements
Minimal travel required – as needed to attend offsite meetings/training.
