Staff Accountant (Experience-Based – Direct Hire)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage our daily financial operations in Lubbock. A formal accounting degree is not required; instead, we deeply value your hands-on, practical expertise. This is a direct-hire, full-time position operating out of our local Lubbock office. The ideal candidate has mastered the full monthly accounting cycle, moves comfortably between accounts payable and receivable, and brings strong software proficiency to our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Full-Month Accounting: Own the month-end closing process, ensuring all journal entries and financial records are accurate.
• AP / AR Management: Oversee invoicing, vendor payments, collections, and expense tracking.
• Reconciliations: Perform regular bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations to maintain ledger integrity.
• Software Operations: Utilize QuickBooks Online and Procore daily to manage financial data and project tracking.
• Data Management: Organize financial spreadsheets and documentation using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Required Qualifications

• Proven Experience: Demonstrated history managing full-month accounting cycles, AP, AR, and reconciliations.
• Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strict Commute Requirement: Must reside within driving distance of Lubbock, TX for a daily, in-office schedule. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry Tools: Prior experience navigating Procore software. Quickbooks Online, Microsoft Office Suite, JobTread
• Cost Accounting: Familiarity with cost accounting, job costing, or construction-related financial tracking.
