Job Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the organization’s financial operations by performing a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review revenue and manage billing processing procedures on an ongoing basis and bring to attention any issues regarding accounting, business procedures or finances.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Liaise with various departments to ensure accuracy and timely recording of financial information, resolve any issues where required.
- Oversee issuing of checks / payment of invoices.
- Maintain General ledgers and prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and end financial reports.
- Offer insight and suggest ways to improve revenue growth.
- Establish, maintain and monitor revenue control risk, including an audit program to ensure revenue is generated according to contracted terms – maximizing revenue and minimizing loss.
- Along with VP of Finance, prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue reports, as well as documentations of financial arrangements and profitability.
- Train staff members in new revenue control policies and collaborate with other staff regarding revenue systems evaluations and improvements.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, analytical roles, or audit functions.
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related area.
- CPA designation is an asset but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully manage relationships with clients, company executives, operational staff, sales staff, and co-workers.
- Strong Analytical skills which involve financial analysis, key trends analysis and business case analysis.
- Skilled at establishing and working collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with multiple priorities.
- Experience with a fully integrated accounting systems.
- Team player with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
Pay
The salary range is $70,000 - $110,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data.
