Job Summary

The Staff Accountant supports the organization’s financial operations by performing a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review revenue and manage billing processing procedures on an ongoing basis and bring to attention any issues regarding accounting, business procedures or finances.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure accuracy and timely recording of financial information, resolve any issues where required.
  • Oversee issuing of checks / payment of invoices.
  • Maintain General ledgers and prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements and end financial reports.
  • Offer insight and suggest ways to improve revenue growth.
  • Establish, maintain and monitor revenue control risk, including an audit program to ensure revenue is generated according to contracted terms – maximizing revenue and minimizing loss.
  • Along with VP of Finance, prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue reports, as well as documentations of financial arrangements and profitability.
  • Train staff members in new revenue control policies and collaborate with other staff regarding revenue systems evaluations and improvements.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, analytical roles, or audit functions.
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related area.
  • CPA designation is an asset but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully manage relationships with clients, company executives, operational staff, sales staff, and co-workers.
  • Strong Analytical skills which involve financial analysis, key trends analysis and business case analysis.
  • Skilled at establishing and working collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with multiple priorities.
  • Experience with a fully integrated accounting systems.
  • Team player with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

Pay

The salary range is $70,000 - $110,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data.
