Staff Accountant - CAAS

About the role

CLA is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice in our Denver, CO office. Our CAAS team helps government clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to support their workforce needs.

Nationwide, our 600 state and local government professionals serve over 1,700 local, county, and state government agencies. The public sector has been a primary focus for us for more than 40 years, providing stellar administrative and accounting services.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Complete month-end and other quarterly and annual processing.
• Day-to-day transactions: Coordinate and process accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and payroll.
• Month-end processing: Complete basic financial statements, coordinate and complete account reconciliations (e.g., bank & credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals).
• Other quarterly/annual processing: Complete sales tax returns, Form 1099s, and other forms or items as requested by clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required. A combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• One to two years of experience providing accounting and financial services is preferred; exceptions may occur based on work to be performed.
• Technical knowledge of QuickBooks and other applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).

Pay

The compensation range for this position in Colorado is $60,000 to $99,000. Factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and knowledge may impact the position of pay within the range.
