About the role
Vasion is a software company seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of finance and accounting functions, leveraging business knowledge, developing skills, and communicating effectively.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, approval routing, and payment processing
- Respond to vendor inquiries about vendor invoices, payment status, and account balances
- Review and match vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation
- Ensure vendor contracts and payment terms are managed appropriately
- Support the company's cash disbursement process, including check runs and ACH/wire payments
- Utilize the company's expense management platform to process and audit corporate credit card transactions and employee expense reimbursements, ensuring proper coding, receipt documentation, and compliance with company policy
- Manage vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, and annual 1099 preparation
- Assist with prepaid expense tracking and monthly amortization schedules
- Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
- Manage fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules in coordination with the accounting team
- Assist with expense allocation entries, ensuring costs are properly coded to the correct department, entity, and account
- Perform variance analysis on operating expenses, investigating and explaining fluctuations month-over-month
- Absorb and support the month-end close process, including reconciling AP subledger activity to the general ledger and tying out related balance sheet accounts
- Help with audit requests as needed
- Support various special projects and ad hoc tasks as necessary
Requirements
- Working towards or completed a Bachelor's degree in a business related field or have relevant work experience
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision
- Non-remote position located in St. George, Utah
