Staff Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance department. This position reports directly to the Controller and supports TradeStation’s Broker-Dealer and FCM operations, as well as affiliates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily cash reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly financial close
• Aid in the preparation of regulatory filings
• Aid in the research and resolution of any issues involving accounts, records, and reports generated within the department
• Aid in gathering data and information requests in connection with external audits
• Recommend and implement process improvements where appropriate
• Aid with 'ad-hoc' requests

Requirements

• Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management
• Solid comprehension of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar systems
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office products
• Highly motivated, a self-starter and a team player willing to take on new responsibilities
• Ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of accounting experience required

Skills

• Financial services industry experience is preferred
• Certified Public Accountant preferred

Pay

Pay Range (US): $81-90K
