Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and recurring entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, investments, AR and AP.
- Analyze profit and loss accounts and report budget variances.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Support budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
- Identify and flag unusual or out-of-policy expense activity.
- Manage fixed asset records, calculate and post depreciation expense.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Aid in the preparation of annual budgeting process.
- Aid in the preparation of full year P&L forecast.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaboration.
- Partner with internal teams to provide financial insights and support.
- Complete financial validation for subcontractors by reviewing financial statements and applying financial metrics to benchmark results.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 2+ years of public or private accounting experience; however, will consider more senior-level candidates.
- Commitment to pursuing and obtaining a CPA license, with a strong interest in professional development and career growth in accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as Spectrum.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
