Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and recurring entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, investments, AR and AP.
  • Analyze profit and loss accounts and report budget variances.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Support budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis.
  • Identify and flag unusual or out-of-policy expense activity.
  • Manage fixed asset records, calculate and post depreciation expense.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Aid in the preparation of annual budgeting process.
  • Aid in the preparation of full year P&L forecast.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaboration.
  • Partner with internal teams to provide financial insights and support.
  • Complete financial validation for subcontractors by reviewing financial statements and applying financial metrics to benchmark results.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as required by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 2+ years of public or private accounting experience; however, will consider more senior-level candidates.
  • Commitment to pursuing and obtaining a CPA license, with a strong interest in professional development and career growth in accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as Spectrum.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
