Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Compile and maintain accounting records
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the balance sheet, liabilities, and intercompany transactions
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations (monthly/quarterly)
• Compile financial reports for month-end (bank/internal/external)
• Prepare weekly reporting to various stakeholders
• Handle daily cash clearing, recording, and reconciliation for all entities/accounts
• Own the fixed assets process (recording, reconciliation, depreciation, tracking)
• Reconcile AP vendor accounts, working with AP to maintain clean records
• Maintain and import credit card statements and employee expense reports
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Four-year college or university degree in accounting; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior experience in reconciling balance sheet accounts is required
• Prior SAP experience is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Proficiency in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
