Staff Accountant

Location: Waterford, MI (Onsite) – Full-time position.

A growing, privately held company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, hands-on environment and is looking for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and customer billing
• Maintain the General Ledger and prepare journal entries
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Prepare financial reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and budget-to-actual reporting
• Track job costing, project budgets, inventory, and project profitability
• Process payroll and support employee benefits administration
• Partner with operations and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assist with process improvements and support the external CPA firm as needed

Requirements

• 2-4 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Construction, project accounting, job costing, or inventory accounting experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with accounting software required (Zoho Books is a plus)
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Pay

$70,000–$85,000 base salary
