About the role
We are seeking a staff accountant to join our audit team in our South Portland, Maine office. Overnight travel is periodically required for accountants in this position.
Responsibilities
- Complete various testing and analytical tasks related to audit fieldwork and reporting
- Work independently and in small groups
- Possess a solid understanding of accounting
- Communicate clearly with clients and senior staff
- Be organized and efficient
- Willing to take on multiple new tasks
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience in auditing is preferred, but not required
- Candidates should be actively working towards obtaining their CPA license if they do not have one
