Job Responsibilities
- Accurately enter information into the company accounting software, including but not limited to payroll time entry, general ledger transactions and account reconciliations.
- Enters cash receipts into Spectrum.
- Works with customers and project managers to resolve payment issues.
- Acts as a backup for payroll/accounting manager tasks as needed.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned.
- Prepare various daily, weekly, monthly, annual reports, statements and/or invoices.
- Prepare various journal entries as assigned.
- Supports the Human Resources department with tasks including new hire entry to HRIS, benefit plan and retirement plan enrollment and changes as well as other tasks as assigned.
- Supports accounts payable department processes including extensive data entry and account reconciliations.
- May have inventory responsibility; including purchase orders, receipts, issuing, counting and reconciliation.
- Works to ensure quantities on hand are accurate; works with telecom project management to resolve discrepancies.
- Establish and maintain files as directed.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in accounting/finance and a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a financial specialist or equivalent combinations of experience and training related experience.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in the use of Viewpoint Spectrum accounting software, Previous experience working with payroll for employees paid according to a labor agreement (s), Experience working in UKG HRIS system, Understanding of SOX audit requirements.
Skills & Competencies
- Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of general construction accounting, auditing, payroll, and invoicing required.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Viewpoints Spectrum system.
- Must have a working knowledge of all federal and state regulations regarding payroll practices and Sarbanes-Oxley standards.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with internal and external customers.
- Good punctuation, spelling, and grammar skills are essential.

- Competitive pay rate is dependent on experience.
