Staff Accountant

Position Overview

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a Staff Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function for two companies. This is a highly hands-on, one-person accounting role where you will manage the full accounting cycle and serve as the primary point of contact for accounting and payroll responsibilities. The ideal candidate is an independent, self-motivated accounting professional who is comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and taking ownership of the accounting function from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for two companies
• Manage high-volume Accounts Receivable, including more than $2M in monthly activity
• Handle full-cycle Accounts Payable and vendor management
• Process biweekly payroll for 50+ employees
• Perform month-end close activities
• Prepare and post General Ledger journal entries
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Monitor and manage sales tax requirements
• Maintain required business licenses and registrations
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Monitor cash activity and support overall financial operations
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and records
• Help transition accounting processes from a heavily paper-based environment to more efficient online/digital processes
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, reporting, and workflow

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience preferred
• Strong full-cycle accounting experience
• Experience with AR, AP, GL, payroll, and month-end close
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage a high volume of transactions and deadlines
• Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience required
• JobBOSS experience is a plus
• Ripling payroll experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills
• Comfortable helping modernize and digitize accounting processes

What We're Looking For

This is not a traditional role where responsibilities are divided among a large accounting team. You will have full ownership of the accounting function. We are looking for someone who enjoys having autonomy, can think independently, and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to handle everything from daily accounting transactions to month-end close.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 DOE
