Staff Accountant
About The Role
Rightway is looking for a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Staff Accountant to join our team. This role involves supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP, and contributing to the accurate and timely reporting of financial information. If you’re an accounting professional with a passion for technology, a willingness to learn new tools, and an eye for efficiency, this role may be for you. You’ll lead day-to-day accounting while contributing to financial analysis and process improvements joining a seasoned team of technology and healthcare experts looking to help humanize the world of healthcare. What You’ll Do
- Lead daily accounting operations including payables, customer billing, cash transactions, payroll processing, and responding to inquiries
- Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring compliance with applicable tax and labor regulations
- Aid in preparing financial statements and management reporting
- Contribute to audit preparations, both internal and external, by providing required documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company-wide initiatives and projects
- Aid in preparation of sales and use tax filings/software (Avalara or Sovos)
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field required
- 2+ years of general accounting experience, with a proven track record of excelling and getting promoted
- Experience within a fast paced startup and/or the healthcare technology industry, Pharmacy Benefit Management space, or Big4 public accounting is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of and experience in financial reporting, month end closing, and audit support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
- Commitment to providing a quality internal service with high levels of satisfaction
- CPA certification or progress toward obtaining it is a plus

COMPENSATION
$65,000 - $90,000 annually, in addition to bonus and equity. Compensation offered will be determined by geographic location, experience, and qualifications.
