Staff Accountant
About the role
Join QA1, a recognized leader in high-performance suspension components for motorsports and industrial markets, at our Lakeville, Minnesota headquarters. In this role, you will provide essential support to the QA1 Accounting/Finance team, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable. While you’ll have a primary area of responsibility, you’ll also work as part of a small team and provide backup for other accounting functions, giving you exposure to multiple aspects of the field. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution and grow with a dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices, match POs/receipts, and ensure proper coding.
- Enter international inventory receipts and resolve PO discrepancies.
- Handle vendor invoicing issues, credits, and returns.
- Monitor discounts, schedule payments, and prepare disbursements.
- Review employee expense reports and reconcile credit card statements.
- Accounts Receivable
- Process customer invoices, credits, and apply payments.
- Follow up on past-due accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Support credit applications and assist with shipping claims.
- General Accounting & Administrative
- Assist with monthly close, reconciliations, and analysis.
- Support tax filings and provide transactional assistance.
- Serve as backup for reception, as needed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar capacity; advanced education may substitute experience requirement.
- Strong working knowledge of core accounting principles, practices, and procedures associated with responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and recommend solutions.
- Proactive, positive attitude, and collaborative approach to challenges.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external parties.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on flawless execution.
- Self-starter who thrives working independently.
- Willingness to continuously learn and be open to feedback.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and ability to quickly train on other Microsoft applications and QA1’s ERP system (Syteline).
- Ability to work with a diverse team.
