Staff Accountant

About the role

Purolator International is a leading U.S.-based supply chain logistics solutions provider specializing in the air and ground forwarding of express, freight and parcel shipments, customs brokerage, and fulfillment and delivery services to, from and within North America. We are a subsidiary of Purolator Inc., Canada’s largest integrated freight, package, and logistics solutions provider.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute weekly, monthly revenue reports to management and field partners.
• Perform weekly SAP general ledger expense analysis and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform weekly revenue reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with prepaid expense reviews and correcting entries as needed.
• Prepare and submit journal entries, including revenue accruals, indirect expense accruals, and reclassification entries.
• Prepare Excel data files used for monthly imports to Adaptive Planning to generate Corp and internal financial statements.
• Research and explain indirect expense and revenue variances during monthly P&L reviews.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and internal control standards.
• Support special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Accounting/Financial Reporting experience.
• College degree with Finance/Accounting major.
• Transportation/Logistics industry experience a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data reconciliation).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong computer and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced/demanding environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $65,906 – $75,000. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge and relevant skills and experience.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, EST. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office (Tuesday – Thursday).
