About the Role
PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes across multiple operating entities. This role requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the fixed asset ledger, including rental fleet and capital leases
- Calculate and post monthly accrual entries, including insurance, property tax, franchise tax, and other expenses
- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and supported within the general ledger and appropriate sub-ledgers
- Absorb and support month-end and year-end close processes to support timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation
- Prioritize daily tasks and manage multiple responsibilities to meet reporting deadlines
- Perform inventory accounting functions, including inventory costing analysis, cycle counts, WIP tracking, inventory turns, and monitoring slow-moving inventory
- Support inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed
- Maintain schedules for operating leases and ensure proper monthly accounting treatment
- Absorb and assist with preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors
- Absorb and support systems and process support, including maintaining and supporting sales tax software and related reporting processes
- Maintain and support accounting system maintenance and data accuracy initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency
- Absorb and assist with process improvement and documentation efforts where applicable
Requirements
- Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (e.g., Social Security card, passport, or other acceptable I-9 documents)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with various levels of management and staff
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple assignments under pressure and tight deadlines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
