Staff Accountant

Location: Coppell, TX (largely remote, occasionally in office)

A key division, Play!TCG, focuses on delivering world-class fan engagement and integrated marketing within the Trading Card Game ecosystem. The team leads organized play for popular franchises such as One Piece, Gundam, Digimon, Dragon Ball Super, and Union Arena. Play Interactive is dedicated to fostering meaningful connections through innovative and exciting experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets and track expenses and revenue across projects and general operations
• Prepare financial summaries and reports (projects, monthly, quarterly, and annual)
• Identify discrepancies and reconcile records across spreadsheets and systems like Airtable and accounting software like QuickBooks
• Support compliance, audits, and year-end reporting
• Process and review expenses including staff travel, vendors, office costs, and supplies
• Monitor and reconcile cash flow when applicable
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll while complying with relevant laws and regulations

Requirements

• 3+ years of accounting or finance experience (event-based or project-driven environments a plus)
• Must have experience with job cost accounting
• Strong GAAP knowledge, Excel skills, and Google Suite experience
• Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, & Google Sheets (Airtable is a big plus)
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple projects independently
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Clear communicator who’s comfortable collaborating with a small team
• Authorized to work legally in the United States
• Must be able to work in-person occasionally at the company’s office (Coppell, Texas)

Pay

Competitive salary of $55,000 – $70,000, based on experience.
