Staff Accountant
About the role
We assist in the accurate and timely preparation of property financial statements in a centralized environment. We maintain accounting records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policy. We complete detailed month-end account reconciliations for the complex trial balance accounts. We prepare monthly analyses on complex trial balance accounts. We research variances to budget and any unexpected movement in the trial balance. We initiate month-end journal entries. We ensure the validity of all adjusting and accrual entries. We monitor and analyze the monthly activity of the payroll and benefit-related accounts. We monitor and analyze the accounting for monthly marketing accruals. We monitor and analyze the accounting for banking and credit card entries and reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Achieve accurate and timely preparation of property financial statements in a centralized environment.

- Support, promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements within the area of responsibility and report any issues to management.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age.
- Associate's Degree (A.A.) from college or university, or at least one year of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- The ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- The ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and guests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly.
- The ability to work independently, identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- The ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented.
