Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

  • Create and post month-end journal entries for both the hospital and realty entities.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset system and Construction in Progress (CIP).
  • Reconcile Pre-Paid Balance Sheet accounts under the direction of the Director of Finance.
  • Assist with certain tax filings, including annual Mercentile/Business Privilege taxes and 1099s.
  • Manage unclaimed property filings, specifically for Pennsylvania Unclaimed Property.
  • Perform quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as assigned.
  • Assist with ASC 842 leasing and posting entries.
  • Support the Budget Director and serve as a backup for other finance department personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and journal preparation and analysis.
  • Experience in partnership tax accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software products and Sage 100 or similar software.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective and efficient time management and resource utilization.
  • Professional and effective communication skills.
  • Personal commitment to ongoing professional and educational development.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software products and Sage 100 or similar software.
  • Experience in creating and posting journal entries.
  • Experience in maintaining fixed asset systems and CIP.
  • Experience in tax filing and unclaimed property management.
  • Experience in preparing and posting ASC 842 leasing entries.
  • Ability to work independently and as a backup.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
