Responsibilities
- Create and post month-end journal entries for both the hospital and realty entities.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset system and Construction in Progress (CIP).
- Reconcile Pre-Paid Balance Sheet accounts under the direction of the Director of Finance.
- Assist with certain tax filings, including annual Mercentile/Business Privilege taxes and 1099s.
- Manage unclaimed property filings, specifically for Pennsylvania Unclaimed Property.
- Perform quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as assigned.
- Assist with ASC 842 leasing and posting entries.
- Support the Budget Director and serve as a backup for other finance department personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and journal preparation and analysis.
- Experience in partnership tax accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software products and Sage 100 or similar software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective and efficient time management and resource utilization.
- Professional and effective communication skills.
- Personal commitment to ongoing professional and educational development.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software products and Sage 100 or similar software.
- Experience in creating and posting journal entries.
- Experience in maintaining fixed asset systems and CIP.
- Experience in tax filing and unclaimed property management.
- Experience in preparing and posting ASC 842 leasing entries.
- Ability to work independently and as a backup.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
