Staff Accountant

About the Role

We are partnering with a mission-driven organization in the Bellevue area to identify a Staff Accountant to join our consulting team in a full-time, on-site capacity. This role is ideal for an accountant who enjoys being hands-on, values structure and accuracy, and has experience working in non-profit environments. This engagement offers the opportunity to work closely with the client’s internal finance team while providing the potential to transition into a permanent, full-time role with the organization at the conclusion of the consulting engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards
• Assist with fund accounting, restricted vs. unrestricted funds, and grant tracking
• Support financial reporting for internal stakeholders and external requirements
• Assist with audits, reviews, and financial documentation requests
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounting experience, with non-profit accounting experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong understanding of GAAP and non-profit accounting principles
• Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel (intermediate or higher)
• Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working fully on-site
• Ability to adapt in a consulting-style environment
• Great Plains experience would be a plus

Pay

$70,000–$80,000 base salary
