Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and reporting packages, for internal and external parties, ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare full-cycle journal entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and consolidation entries (including inter-entity eliminations).
• Maintain accurate schedules for key account balances, such as depreciation and amortization schedules, profit and loss allocations, and various accounting details.
• Execute processes for the monthly close cycle to comply with company financial close calendar while ensuring high-quality work products, free of errors or significant rework.
• Review and reconcile intercompany/cross-entity charges including fees, reimbursement allocations, shared services.
• Ensure all associated transactions/coding, daily cash receipts, and miscellaneous bank activity are recorded accurately and timely.
• Assist in the administration of the company’s expense management system and assist in refining accounting team’s process and procedures for accurate recording of company expenses.
• Backfill and assist with positive pay for corporate entities as well as revenue billings.
• Create wires, transfers and standard ACH posting.
• Complete or review ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (required).
• CPA (preferred).
• 2+ years of real estate industry experience or corporate accounting experience.

Skills

• Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Real estate accounting, corporate accounting, or public accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with Yardi preferred.
• Experience with FloQast preferred.
• Intermediate–advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.

Pay

$65,000 - $85,000 / year

Eligible for discretionary performance bonus.

Schedule

This position will not require travel.
