Staff Accountant

About the role

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, perform general ledger and financial reporting functions for NPH.

Responsibilities

• Record revenue, payroll and expense accrual journal entries.
• Prepare variance explanations for month-end results.
• Prepare financial presentations for Operations.
• Prepare income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
• Ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis to support Operations.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation of year-end audit support schedules.
• Assist with documentation of new business acquisitions and new accounting procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 0-2 years of full-cycle accounting experience required.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Experience with Netsuite preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Strong computer skills including MS Excel and MS Word.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and issues and ability to propose solutions.
• Good mathematical skills.
• Skill in verbal and written communication.
• Skill in gathering and reporting information.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, physicians, and external customers.
• Must display a teamwork attitude and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
