Description Reports To: Controller General Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for reviewing and processing various types of financial transactions, preparing numerous reports, promptly entering invoices and issuing payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate vendor records. This position also provides financial, administrative, and clerical support to the Controller. The individual will be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and ensure accuracy with transactions while working independently. The position must maintain utmost confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with stockholders, management, team members, and vendors. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Efficiently and accurately enter invoices as they are receivedPrepare expense checks and transmit payments as neededEnsure accuracy of payments posted to the general ledgerSet-up fixed assets and balance to GL monthlySet-up prepaids and accruals and balance to GL monthlyUpdate the Financial Report dailyTrack Correspondent Bank balances and transfer funds as neededPost Correspondent Bank service charges, wires transfers, security payments, and dividends to GLPrepare monthly Board and Marketing reportsReview purchasing card expenses, create expense file and post to GL monthlyBalance and expense Bank & Business purchases each monthAssist with set-up and maintenance of investment securitiesMonitor public funds balances and assist with pledging and releasing securitiesAssist with stock purchases, sales and quarterly stockholder distributionsReport and pay Excise Use tax, Franchise taxes, and Personal & Real Estate taxesMaintain vehicle assessmentsSend out yearly fixed asset inventory verification to branchesReview and pay yearly Business LicenseHelp with insurance claims and renewalsPrepare and report yearly personal property tax renditionReview and prepare AP 1099 file at year endBack-up Controller when absentPerform any other duties as assigned by management TEAM EXPECTATIONS Champion the MNB mission statement with pride and enthusiasmPerform all aspects of your position with a leadership mentalityMaintain a high-level of cooperation and rapport among team members to ensure accuracy and efficient operations and serviceFormulate and communicate fresh ideas to improve profitability and provide efficiency in overall bank operationsExhibit professionalism at all times ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
