Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Compile and process payroll.
- Reconcile payroll spreadsheets with entries in payroll service software.
- Run Physical Inventory reports weekly for all branches.
- Customer account adjustments and aging.
- Daily cash analysis and reconciliations.
- Review of Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
- Standard general journal entries and credit card purchase entries.
- Maintain and update branch inventory values.
- Find and troubleshoot accounting transaction errors and omissions.
- Perform month-end close to ensure that data has been captured accurately.
- Verify and reconcile intercompany accounts.
- Maintain and help to develop improved financial reports.
- Determine ways to reduce costs and improve productivity and efficiency within Finance.
- Understand the financial status of the companies to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing.
- Other duties as assigned by the CFO.
Requirements
- Minimum bachelor’s degree with an accounting, economics, finance, or business administration.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience processing payroll in Paycor is a plus.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience working with multiple bonus and commission plans is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Flexibility in performing cross-functional tasks.
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and journal entry preparation with high accuracy.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and supporting audit activities.
- Prior experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced setting.
