Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Keep track of all payments and expenditures, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
• Maintain historical records with accuracy in accounting/ bookkeeping
• Pay vendors and ensure payments are received for outstanding credit; generally responding to all vendor inquiries regarding finance
• Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports
• Continue to improve the accounting processes
• Add additional duties assigned by management as necessary

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-3 years of prior accounts payable/ receivables experience
• Degree in accounting preferred
• Experience working in transportation industry a plus
• Professional demeanor
• Proficiency at Microsoft Excel and Word
• Must have working experience with Quickbooks
• Able to multi-task under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills
