Staff Accountant

About This Role

This Staff Accountant position at LLE Education Group in Woodbridge, VA offers $60,000 – $65,000/Yr. The ideal candidate brings a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and a commitment to supporting ECE program operations.

What You'll Do

• Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Aid in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Perform bank account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Aid in fixed asset tracking and running depreciation
• Conduct periodic inventory walkthroughs at centers and reconcile to the general ledger
• Aid in the preparation of annual tax filings and external audits, including providing reconciliations, schedules and supporting documents
• Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal financial policies
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
• Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
• Provide support to centers to ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations, offering financial insights and assistance as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Educational background leading to an associate's degree is preferred
