About the role
Own the Numbers Behind Life-Saving Medical Devices
At Life Science Outsourcing (LSO), financial integrity is not a back-office formality. As a medical device contract manufacturer operating under FDA regulations and ISO 13485 standards, we run on a general ledger that leadership can trust without a second thought, because every decision it informs ultimately touches a patient.
Responsibilities
- Drive the month-end close, including review and analysis of all profit and loss and balance sheet transactions.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules that stand up to scrutiny.
- Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts, chasing down discrepancies until they are resolved.
- Partner with business leaders to communicate and publish financial results and key performance indicators.
- Monitor and enforce internal controls across accounting processes, treating them as the backbone of reliable reporting.
- Support quarterly and year-end audits, plus any internal or external audits, with documentation that is ready when asked.
- Complete tax filings including Sales and Use and Property tax forms.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations across LSO entities and keep financial information strictly confidential.
- Provide oversight and serve as backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Review accrued liabilities and expenses for completeness and accuracy.
- Resolve cash and credit card issues in coordination with the finance team.
- Support the finance management team and executives with analyses and ad hoc projects that shape real decisions.
- Aid in preparing quarterly audit committee presentations.
- Maintain organized historical records and supporting documentation.
- Identify repetitive, manual accounting tasks and apply AI and automation tools to streamline them.
- Help the finance team modernize how the close, reconciliations, and reporting get done.
Qualifications
- Two-year degree in Accounting or Finance required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger ownership and month-end close.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, including AP, AR, invoice reconciliation, and cost accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office.
- Experience with an ERP or accounting system; Deacom experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Detail-oriented with an uncompromising commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
- An analytical problem solver who digs into discrepancies rather than working around them.
- Organized and dependable under close deadlines, when precision matters most.
- Genuinely interested in applying AI and automation tools to streamline repetitive accounting work, with either hands-on experience or a strong desire to learn.
- Brings an ownership mindset to controls and compliance rather than treating them as checkbox exercises.
- Nice to have: experience in a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment, familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 or ISO 13485 regulated operations, certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping, hands-on experience using AI or automation tools (AI assistants, scripting, or ERP workflow automation).
Why Join LSO?
- Work directly with the Controller and gain visibility with executives, including quarterly audit committee exposure.
- Build modern finance skills: this team is actively applying AI and automation to the close, not just talking about it.
- Deepen regulated-industry experience inside an FDA registered, ISO 13485 certified manufacturer, a credential that travels well.
- Join a PE-backed organization with the resources and growth trajectory to expand your scope.
- Work in a professional office environment within an FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 regulated contract manufacturing operation.
