About the role
The Staff Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting operations of a multi-location organization. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s or equivalent degree from an accredited university in business, accounting, Finance, or related field of study
- 2+ years of accounting/finance related experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups and other formulas)
- Experience using Business Central and other accounting systems – a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred
- Mechanical engineering or manufacturing experience
- Manufacturing, automotive, fleet, or multi-location business experience
- CPA designation or CPA candidate
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
Job Duties
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Prepare and create journal entries
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Help improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies
- Perform under deadlines and demonstrate willingness to work long hours if needed to complete projects on time
- Participate in special projects and acquisitions integration efforts

Schedule
- Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, some overtime may be required
