Position Overview The Staff Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting activities for assigned entities, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, financial analysis, and intercompany accounting. This individual will function as a trusted accounting partner, providing financial insight, variance explanations, and ownership over the accuracy of the financials. Responsibilities Perform month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journal entriesComplete hands-on balance sheet reconciliations and research reconciling itemsAnalyze account activity and investigate fluctuations or unusual transactionsPrepare variance analyses and provide meaningful commentary on financial resultsManage intercompany transactions and related reconciliationsSupport accounting activities across multiple entitiesAssist with cash flow reporting and forecasting activitiesPrepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits and financial reviewsProcess and analyze high-volume accounting transactionsMaintain accurate general ledger records and ensure compliance with accounting policiesPartner with operational leaders to better understand business activity and financial resultsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in AccountingApproximately 3-5 years of accounting experienceStrong understanding of accounting fundamentals and GAAP principlesExperience preparing journal entries and account reconciliationsExperience working in a multi-entity accounting environmentIntercompany accounting experienceStrong Excel skills and ability to work with large data setsERP system experience Preferred Great Plains experienceExposure to cash flow forecastingExperience preparing financial analysis and variance commentaryExperience supporting audit requests and financial reporting processes What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who:Personally performs reconciliations rather than simply reviewing themUnderstands the accounting behind the numbers and can explain financial activityTakes ownership of assigned responsibilities and follows issues through resolutionIs proactive, curious, and eager to learn the businessCommunicates effectively with both accounting and operational stakeholdersThrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environmentIs comfortable working in a more manual accounting settingDemonstrates professionalism, integrity, and accountability Why This Opportunity Stands Out This role offers the chance to move beyond transactional accounting and become a true business partner.
