Location: Woburn, MA Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 base + bonus Position Overview Our client, a growing professional services organization, is seeking a Staff Accountant / HR Coordinator to support day-to-day Finance and Human Resources operations. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys a broad range of responsibilities and wants exposure across both accounting and HR. The position will support key accounting functions including client billing, payroll, cash management, bank reconciliations, and fixed assets, while also assisting with recruiting, onboarding, employee records, HR administration, and special projects. This role offers long-term growth potential within the organization. Responsibilities Accounting & Finance Prepare monthly client invoices and assist with billing activities.Process bi-weekly payroll and manage vacation and sick time accruals.Support cash management activities, including applying customer payments and performing bank reconciliations.Assist with fixed asset inventory tracking.Support the development and maintenance of financial policies and standard operating procedures.Respond to internal and external finance-related inquiries.Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed. Human Resources Coordinate recruiting activities, including posting job openings, corresponding with candidates, and scheduling interviews.Support pre-employment activities, including background checks, drug and medical screenings, and onboarding.Maintain accurate employee and HR records.Provide administrative support across HR, including HRIS data entry, scheduling, document management, filing, and maintaining forms and templates.Respond to employee and external HR inquiries and route requests as appropriate.Assist with additional HR projects and initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.2+ years of progressive experience supporting accounting/finance and HR functions, ideally within a professional services environment.Experience with billing/invoicing, payroll administration, financial recordkeeping, and employee records.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and changing deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Previous experience within the architecture, engineering, or construction (A/E/C) industry is a plus.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
