Staff Accountant
About the role
We are seeking a detail-driven Staff Accountant to support a high-performing accounting function. This role partners closely with management and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient month-end processes, and strong internal controls. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, contributes to process improvements, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assists in preparing month-end journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies and principles
- Assists in payroll activities ensuring data accuracy and resolving payroll inquiries in addition to labor accruals, support 401(k) administration and audits
- Assists in preparing month-end closing process and general ledger review, including but not limited to generating reports and preparing consolidated monthly financial documentation
- Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Support Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable transaction processing and other functional ad hoc analysis as required
- Performs other duties and supports special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Accounting with 1-3 years of experience
- Demonstrated ability to use analytical skills, cost analysis and account reconciliation
- Proficiency in Excel, SAP and Qlik is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
