Staff Accountant

About the role

Under the direction of the Controller, the Staff Accountant partners with IT, Product teams, Sales, and Operational partners to improve business insights by accounting for operational activities while supporting the accumulation and analysis of data for management as it relates to business decisions. This is a non‑supervisory, full‑time, on‑site position.

Responsibilities

Accounting

• Supports end‑of‑month close process
• Reconciliation and maintenance of assigned general ledger accounts
• Calculates Cost of Warranty and Cost of Quality monthly billings and creates reports
• Assists in tracking of warranty‑related transactions and reporting
• Provides support in filing and reconciliation of Sales Tax return process

Rebates & Reporting

• Provides entitlement summary by customer to sales team
• Provides other required sales and payment clearing reports to the sales team and customers
• Development and entry of monthly journal entries and reclassifications

Requirements

Education

• Minimum 2‑year Associate degree; 4‑year degree preferred
• Additional education such as MBA or CPA a plus

Experience

• Minimum 2 years in progressively responsible accounting experience

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations concisely and timely
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain control and order
• Accountable for specific performance
• Exceptional attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and providing a high level of customer service
• Confidential; understands the ethical standards of accounting
• Strong system skills – experience with SAP, BW, Microsoft CRM, and Adaptive Insights preferred
• Clear problem‑solving and investigative skills – support a lean environment; Six Sigma Certification a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including PowerPivot, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, VBA, Macros, etc.)

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Standard office environment; on‑site work required. The employee must maintain concentration in a variety of work environments, sustain attention to detail while managing multiple priorities, reason, analyze information, and make sound decisions promptly. Must work both independently and collaboratively and interact professionally with colleagues, leadership, and external partners.

• Regularly required to sit for extended periods, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, phone, and other standard office equipment
• Communicate verbally and in writing, view a computer monitor, and perform tasks requiring close vision with ability to adjust focus
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch to access files, supplies, or other office equipment
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 20 pounds
• Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger motion required for keyboarding and other clerical tasks
