Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our Accounting + Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, growing organization that values teamwork, continuous learning, and innovation. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and principles.
• Manage the full cycle of accounting activities including journal entries, month-end close, and year-end audits.
• Oversee grant accounting, ensuring all grants are accurately tracked and reported.
• Use Sage Intacct to automate and streamline financial processes and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and analyze financial variances.
• Coordinate with other departments to gather information and clarify financial data.
• Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and maintaining compliance with grant financial operations and grant audit requirements.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the Accounting + Finance industry.
• Solid experience and understanding of grant accounting.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Excel and accounting software.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
