About the role
Built Different Jet Access is a family-owned, professionally operated private aviation company. The Staff Accountant role supports the accounting team and the broader finance function, ensuring the integrity of financial records across accounts payable and receivable, intercompany operations, and credit card reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Supports the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor coordination, and timely payment of obligations
- Maintains accounts receivable, including payment application, monitoring aging, and following up on outstanding balances
- Researches and resolves discrepancies between intercompany and external AR/AP accounts
- Reviews and approves employee credit card transactions and performs monthly credit card reconciliations
- Maintains organized vendor and customer documentation to support timely processing and audit readiness
- Supports the Staff Accountant’s work by preparing and reviewing assigned balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and assisting with tax compliance activities
- Prepares and reviews intercompany reconciliations across all Jet Access entities, ensuring balances agree and are fully supported
- Assists the Controller with audit preparation and responses to external auditor requests
- Supports ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from the Controller and finance leadership
- Identifies opportunities to streamline reconciliation and close processes for greater efficiency and accuracy
- Completes special projects and initiatives as needed, embracing opportunities to contribute to Jet Access’s continued growth and success
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Two or more years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of compliance, reconciliation, or multi-entity accounting responsibilities
- Solid command of GAAP and the ability to apply technical accounting standards independently and accurately
- Proficiency with NetSuite or a comparable enterprise accounting system; NetSuite experience is strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail, particularly in high-volume or multi-deadline environments
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information accurately and concisely
- Must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening

Schedule
- Full-time, in-office role based in Indianapolis, Indiana
- Standard business hours, Monday through Friday, aligned with the accounting team schedule
- Occasional extended hours are expected during month-end close, audit periods, and tax filing deadlines
