About This Role The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in the financial operations of Resurge International. This position is responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) to maintain the integrity of financial records and support the organization's mission. This position reports to the CFAO. This is a highly collaborative role requiring someone who is equally comfortable diving into the general ledger and picking up the phone to conferring with associates. Core Responsibilities You Won’t Be Doing This Alone—you’ll Work With And Under The Guidance Of The CFAO And Occasionally Our Auditors. You Will Be The One Making Things Happen Day To Day, Owning The accuracy and integrity of day-to-day financial dataRevenue tracking across multiple revenue streamsConsistent weekly payables process, ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on timeEnsuring staff are paid accurately and on timeAccurate tracking of Grants and Fund accounting: revenue and expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund periodEnsuring the expense management system is consistently followed, including proper documentation, approvals, and adherence to established controlsMaintaining clear understanding of cash flows including updating the cash flow forecasting toolPreparing clean, accurate, and fully supported financial records in accordance with GAAP, ready for review and oversight by the CFAOAct as a key partner in strengthening system functionality (including Sage Intacct) identifying issues, and collaborating with CFAO to improve how systems operate day to day Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of nonprofit accounting experience; including grant and fund accountingStrong understanding of GAAPExperience working in environments with operational complexityDemonstrated ability to improve systems, processes, or internal controlsExperience with Sage IntactStrong Excel skillsClear, practical communicatorA genuine passion for ReSurge’s mission and the communities it serves.
