About the role
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 - 3 years of combined accounting/audit experience (can be in small or midsized public accounting firms) and will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes; various management reporting; and various ad hoc responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards
- Aid in the preparation of management reports
- Manage general ledger accounts and perform account reconciliations
- Process journal entries and ensure accurate recording of transactions
- Maintain fixed asset register and calculate depreciation
- Review expense reports and vendor invoices
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and post-closing entries
- Ensure timely completion of all closing activities
- Coordinate with other family office team members to gather necessary information
- Audit & Compliance
- Assist with external audits
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Support tax preparation and planning activities
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes
- Implement best practices and internal controls
- Assist in the development and documentation of accounting procedures
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA candidate or pursuing CPA certification (preferred)
- Experience: 2 - 3 years combination of progressive accounting and auditing experience
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Archway, or similar), familiarity with ERP systems
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, strong communication skills (written and verbal), team player with ability to work independently
