Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP
• Perform detailed account reconciliations across balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Ensure all reconciliations are accurate, timely, and properly documented
• Support month-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Identify, investigate, and communicate financial discrepancies and trends
• Afford financial statement variance analysis and profitability reporting
• Maintain confidentiality of financial data and safeguard company assets
• Contribute to process improvements and special projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across departments and branch locations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Two or more years of relevant accounting experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP, solid attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required for inter-company travel; must meet company insurability standards

Skills & Abilities

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Experience with accounting systems preferred

Work Expectations

• Flexibility to work additional hours during peak close or reporting periods, as needed

Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 lbs
• Vision abilities include close, distance, and focus adjustment
