The Staff Accountant supports the financial close and helps ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and aligned with US GAAP. This broad-based role contributes to general ledger and operational accounting, reporting, controls, systems, and special projects. Working with Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional partners, you’ll help resolve accounting issues, improve recurring processes, support Microsoft D365 enhancements, and build experience across a growing organization. In This Role Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned areasReview assigned balance sheet accounts for accuracy, investigate reconciling items, and maintain appropriate documentation in BlackLinePrepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, compare results to supporting detail, and assist with investigating unusual activity, trends, or follow-up itemsWork with Accounting, Finance, and operational teams to understand transactions, research discrepancies, and provide accounting support for new business activitiesAssist with Microsoft D365 and related system enhancements through testing, data validation, issue resolution, and process documentationHelp maintain accounting procedures and internal controls and recommend practical improvements to recurring workflowsSupport internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.Assist with accounting research and supporting analyses for assigned or non-routine transactions under the guidance of senior team members.Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualificationsUphold the Core Values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands TeamBe open and honestReach for excellenceAct with responsibilityValue the whole personEnjoy the journey The Ideal Person 2+ years of general ledger, corporate accounting, or public accounting experience; experience in a multi-entity or high-growth environment is a plusBachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA license or path to CPA preferredWorking knowledge of US GAAP and foundational experience with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controlsExperience working with ERP and financial systems; experience supporting system enhancements or implementations is preferredProficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data reconciliation techniquesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing prioritiesCollaborative team player with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a proactive mindsetDemonstrates integrity, accountability, and commitment to continuous improvement About Four Hands Headquartered in Austin, Texas, since 1996, Four Hands crafts furniture, art and décor — pieces that are all about creating space.
