Staff Accountant

About the role

The Five-S Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in industry accounting, with a solid understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and month-end processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reports and supports strategic financial decision-making. This is a full-time position that will office in Baton Rouge and report to the Controller.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Oversee month-end closing processes and ensure accuracy
• Support the development and implementation of internal controls
• Contribute to strategic financial planning and analysis

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Pass a drug test and background check

Qualifications

• CPA certification preferred but not required

• Experience with financial systems and software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
