Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and other month-end close adjustments.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve account discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policy.
- Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and internal reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing financial data, analysis, and variance explanations.
- Analyze financial results and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Aid in accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application and management, and other transactional accounting functions as needed.
- Support audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor requests.
- Maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation for accounting records and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes
- Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end close cycles
- Familiarity with audit support and financial statement preparation
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience in a growing or multi-state organization
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $68,000–$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications; Additional benefits may include health insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, and eligibility for a year-end bonus after completion of the waiting period. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial reporting while supporting operational decision-making.
