Staff Accountant
About the role
Dubois Chemicals is a growing company with global operations and significant merger & acquisition activity. Our North America accounting team is looking for a new staff accountant to join our team. This individual’s responsibilities include maintaining financial records for our US operations, performing (and automating) account reconciliations, driving & improving monthly closing, and driving process improvement within the team. You will also be assisting the controller & CFO as needed with ad-hoc projects.
We’re looking for someone who is process oriented, enjoys fixing things, and likes working with data—never satisfied with the status quo and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In return, you’ll have the ability to standardize & automate routine tasks using self-service analytics tools and help improve data visibility for our operations team. We’re constantly acquiring & integrating new businesses, so each deal looks different.

Responsibilities
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
- Preparing journal entries, analyses, and assisting with monthly close processes
- Performing & automating monthly balance sheet & bank account reconciliations
- Reconciling Inventory and working with Supply Chain team to understand costs
- Meeting processing and reporting deadlines
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Assisting the Controller and CFO as needed
- Assisting with setting up ERP account structures
Requirements
- 2-5 years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related fields
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- ERP system experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong analytical skills & ability to work with large data sets
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
Skills
- Prior experience with BI/Analytics tools helpful but not required (e.g. Alteryx, DataIku, Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)
