Our Billings, Montana office is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to handle various accounting functions and provide back-up support in Accounts Payable and Payroll processing under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts—daily in some cases.
  • Reconciles detailed financial data, exports, generates, and presents data in various report formats.
  • Prepares periodic financial reporting and expense analysis for Firm Management.
  • Analyzes financial data, reconciles variances, and communicates findings to the Chief Financial Officer and other staff as appropriate.
  • Monitors and assists with administration of all firm credit cards.
  • Assists with payroll filings and reconciliations.
  • Assists with various local tax filings.
  • Assists with maintenance of fixed assets schedules.
  • Assists with month-end and year-end close.
  • Provides support for audits by external entities.
  • Assists with benefit compliance monitoring.
  • Monitors adherence to the Firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Assists with annual budget process.
  • Assists with various financial and accounting projects.
  • Acts as a role model for integrity, fiscal responsibility, and ethical behavior.
  • Researches and stays apprised on industry trends and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in accounting.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and similar software; experience with ERPs and databases preferred.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
