Our Billings, Montana office is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to handle various accounting functions and provide back-up support in Accounts Payable and Payroll processing under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Prepares reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts—daily in some cases.
- Reconciles detailed financial data, exports, generates, and presents data in various report formats.
- Prepares periodic financial reporting and expense analysis for Firm Management.
- Analyzes financial data, reconciles variances, and communicates findings to the Chief Financial Officer and other staff as appropriate.
- Monitors and assists with administration of all firm credit cards.
- Assists with payroll filings and reconciliations.
- Assists with various local tax filings.
- Assists with maintenance of fixed assets schedules.
- Assists with month-end and year-end close.
- Provides support for audits by external entities.
- Assists with benefit compliance monitoring.
- Monitors adherence to the Firm’s policies and procedures.
- Assists with annual budget process.
- Assists with various financial and accounting projects.
- Acts as a role model for integrity, fiscal responsibility, and ethical behavior.
- Researches and stays apprised on industry trends and best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounting.
- Basic math skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and similar software; experience with ERPs and databases preferred.
- Able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
