Staff Accountant

Salary: $65,000 - $69,000 Why This Opportunity Stands Out Hybrid schedule with only 1 day in-office and 4 days remote Convenient Alexandria, VA location with easy access to King Street Metro Opportunity to support a respected international nonprofit organization with meaningful impact Exposure to a wide range of accounting functions including revenue, receivables, payables, reconciliations, and reporting Direct collaboration with finance leadership and cross-functional teams Hands-on involvement in month-end close, annual audits, and regulatory reporting processes Opportunity to help improve accounting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency Stable organization offering visibility into both day-to-day accounting operations and larger financial initiatives Excellent opportunity for an accountant seeking professional growth and expanded responsibilities Key Responsibilities For The Staff Accountant Process and reconcile cash receipts, donor contributions, grants, distributions, and other revenue transactions Prepare weekly deposits and investigate discrepancies with internal stakeholders Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close activities Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger documentation Support accounts payable, corporate credit card, and employee reimbursement processing through Bill.com Assist with audit schedules, Form 990 support, and regulatory reporting requirements Complete ad hoc tasks & projects as requested Qualifications For The Staff Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field 2+ years of accounting experience Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and large dataset reconciliation Experience with accounting systems; Sage Intacct and Bill.com experience is a plus #StaffAccountant #AccountingJobs #FinanceJobs #INOCT2026 Qualified candidates please submit your resume for immediate consideration for this exciting job opportunity!
