Staff Accountant

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $80,000 to $90,000 per year. Job Responsibilities Prepare and record journal entries, account reconciliations, and other routine accounting transactions to support accurate financial reporting. Assist with month end close activities, financial statement preparation, and management reporting processes. Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and research discrepancies to ensure data accuracy and completeness. Support cash management activities, banking transactions, and reconciliation of financial records. Assist with audit preparation, regulatory reporting, fixed asset tracking, and process improvement initiatives. Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Previous accounting experience in a Staff Accountant, Accounting Assistant, Accounting Clerk, or similar role. Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month end close procedures. Prior experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting accounting schedules. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn and utilize accounting software and financial systems. Qualifications Previous experience supporting audits, financial reporting, or compliance-related accounting activities. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple assignments. Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
